About the Press
The University of Xalapa Press (UX) is an academic and cultural institution whose essential purpose is "Knowledge to Transcend." We serve as the institutional vehicle for the rigorous dissemination of intellectual and scientific production, strictly adhering to our educational, scientific, and non-profit mission.
Pillars of Publication and Ethical Commitment
Our catalog is distinguished by its originality and methodological rigor. We exclusively publish unpublished works that are the result of in-depth research, studies, or reflections. To ensure quality and ethics in the dissemination of knowledge, we operate under the following non-negotiable principles:
- Originality and Peer Review: All work undergoes rigorous peer review (double-blind) and plagiarism detection software. Our contributors commit to submitting contributions that are the result of their own research or reflections and to refrain from publishing them elsewhere during the peer review process.
- Nonprofit Purpose and Copyright: Reaffirming our educational mission, the University of Xalapa Press operates as a nonprofit. Authors grant the University of Xalapa, free of charge and unconditionally, the rights to edit and publish their contributions, with the understanding that the University does not derive any financial benefit from these publications.
- Open Access (Creative Commons): We promote the free flow of knowledge. All our contributions are distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA) license. This guarantees that the work can be shared and adapted, provided that authorship is acknowledged, non-commercial use is maintained, and the same license is applied to derivative works.
The University of Xalapa Press is a space where ethics, scientific rigor, and transparency converge to create a lasting intellectual legacy, fostering social development in the state of Veracruz.
